And here is a neat image of the headlight

Ive got the wrong headlights for both of my Barris Buggies...the ones I am going to use for now are some nice Brass ones that are a little more "real" looking than the chrome shells, but technically they are incorrect...but for now they will have to do.

Randy,
Thanks for the pictures. The one in B&W may be the same I have, but I won't
post it.(It's Autographed)

This is one of photos, I'm working off of.......

And the side lights, reminded me too much, of my old '71 ford F150.

Thanks Again,

Bill

That is a cool shot too! I like the wide 5 Pacers and the brass lights and grille on that one...very interesting! Also it looks like a Corvair powered one. I wonder if it is the tubular frame car that I had heard about?

I seriously need to get up to Barris and do some research on these things.

Randy,

If see George, please tell him I'm not happy.

I'm just trying to put one of his buggies back together.

Because He's no longer judging on "Car Warriors", or that his kids
want $750.00 for his autograph.

OK, Done with THAT !,

Bill

Hey...I just found a source for the original hinges used on the rear doors and side hatch...they are pretty expensive at about $50 each, but they are the exact ones, same manufacturer and part number!!!

http://www.coldsupply.com/Kason-1070-04-Reversible-Surfacemount-Hinge-78-Offset-_p_5246.html

Im now searching for the handles used on the rear doors and the gas cap cover thing...did someone on here have a lead for that?

Yes Randy,

Hard to believe that the hinges are from a walk in cooler. Just be careful, the offset for the side hinges is not the same as the doors.

And good luck on the gas cap. I found an old one on here.

I've been busy trying to get mine out of body shop. Next week, I hope !

Have a Good One,

Bill

Both style hinges are still available...the 7/8th inch rise for the rear and the flat ones for the sides.

Any ideas on the handles for the back?
I'd sure like to find some new ones of those!

I look forward to seeing pix of yours back from the bodyshop. If all goes well mine goes in the spray booth today Very Happy

Im curious on your windshield set up... my original is a little rough (but probably savable) but the glass is cracked. Did you manage to find all new stuff off the shelf that will work?

The chrome stuff looks great!
I found some locking handles for the back, with keys, at a local hardware store yesterday..cheap too! $10 each!

Still searching for the gas hatch... Found black plastic all over...but no chrome!

I'm curious on your side lights..do they have the heavy L brackets underneath? Both of my Barris Buggies have them, but they are so ugly!

Randy,
You might try http://www.rustrepair.com/app2/onlinecat.htm?r=sv&p=wi-drhdwr-dr.rrex
As for the gas cap, Good Luck, the one I have is far from perfect.
Just couldn't see $100 square inch, to plate.
Cowl lights, I used the lights and brackets from Speedway. Just used a stainless exhaust tip to correct the angle.

When do we see some pics of Yours?

Paint Friday ! Laughing

Have a Good One,

Bill

Randy and Bill, I have been dragging a Barris T Buggy around for about 10 years. I'm going to start restoring it soon it needs new floor pans mainly. Glad to see I don't have the only one. This is my first post on this site so I'm going to have to figure out how to post pics. Thanks James

James, welcome to the fun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Randy, Looking Good Applause

I see You found a grill shell. Looks like we are finding more Barris T's here, than with the Hot Rod write-up, and Facebook.

Have a Good One,

Bill

Welcome James!
We need to get serious about a registry of some sort. Try to document how many are really out there!

I painted the rear box, rear doors and repainted the front hood today...still need a little work on the cab top and then paint work is done. I have a pin striper lined up to do the graphics when Im ready...chassis is done and ready for the body to be bolted down...then wiring, etc. I have a new windshield being made by the guy you suggested...should be done early next week. Assembly should go pretty quick I would think!

Im really having a blast with the project...cant wait to get it done!
