Outstanding work!
I like that fact you understand that the tar or rubber dampening mats (aka dynamat) is only needed in small amounts. Unlike those who cake their cars in it and just end up spending shit loads and slowing their car down
keep up the great work! |

Thanks guys.
I have 4 wires coming from my ignition:
- red
- black w/ red tracer
- black
- gray
I'm also using a 67 harness so the starter wire runs through the main harness.
Is this right?
black w/ red tracer to smaller red from the harness (these two):
Then, red from ignition to 30 on the headlight switch:
Gray goes to nothing - cap off, and black to fuse box. Right? _________________ 69 Fastback Build (Doris) |

| I believe so. But I'd put my VOM on both the ignition switch side of things, and verify the wire going to the starter, just to be sure. Same thing on the harness side, as you never know. Are you using a true 67 harness, or an ISP replacement one? I think the gray went to the key buzzer. |
I'm using the ISP harness. I think I've got it worked out now. _________________ 69 Fastback Build (Doris) |

I've been lacking with updating the assembly pictures. Here's where we're at with this car. Getting closer!
The wiring is really close to being done. I picked up a fuel pump relay from pic-n-pull that also uses the tach signal, but it was a little corroded, so I ordered one from AC.net last week. Once that arrives I've only got a few wires left.
I used the chrome amber bulbs for the bullets. I believe that was a sharkskinman comment somewhere. Can't really tell with the clear lenses.
Popouts are in and I put all the install pics in the Fastback Popout thread.
Doors and fenders are on and aligned. Thanks Clatter for the help. We got all but the rear apron beading on. I'll finish that up soon.
So here's the pictures.
NOS seals
Weather resistant foam for the corners.
Rolled it outside. I did the gauges myself. Those 3 miles are 'drill miles'. Gizmobob tach!
And after we installed the beading.

Is it an optical illusion/photographic illusion or is the passenger side tie rod really close to the body?

Thanks.
It's definitely closer than the driver side, but clears by at least an inch through full travel. Kind of looks like this one.

Thanks. That's the plan (please no last minute show stoppers), to drive it down for the Classic. I think we're going to pull it off. _________________ 69 Fastback Build (Doris) |

Can't tell?
It's ISP. Very nice quality. The only thing that could be better is the rear apron pieces, as the 'T' isn't as wide as the originals. _________________ 69 Fastback Build (Doris) |

nah not really? I am looking at it on a monitor
Yeah I hear the the OG was fat on the bottom of the rear beading.
Bad idea to mix NOS and ISP on the same car yeah? |

I didn't know how much larger in diameter your tie rods were since they're not stock.
I can't do much with my car due to 'outside factors', so I get to collect parts, blog and wait... _________________ http://restoringferris.blogspot.com/

Does the blue hose clear the tie rod ends? Looks close there too. Just asking, because my 65 is hosed in like that, but the front hose is pointed toward the rear to clear the tie rods. Looks good under there. A real shame that it all gets hidden by the fuel tank. |
would a clear fuel tank be possible?

Thank you for pointing that out. I appreciate the comments to sort out the little things that may be done better.
It does clear as it is. But, I think I cut the hose a little too short and maybe need to redo it and route it underneath the tie rod. I think I have enough extra here. _________________ 69 Fastback Build (Doris) |

They're actually not that much bigger than the stock ones.
I hear you on the 'outside factors'. My wife has vowed to NEVER ride in it. A shame, but her loss I suppose. _________________ 69 Fastback Build (Doris) |

...it's a shame she won't ride in the car-it's one of the nicest restorations I've seen in a while. It really is her loss.
Your work on that car was done in what some might call 'record time' with great results... _________________ http://restoringferris.blogspot.com/
