Updated the Invasion site tonight. Made a few corrections, added a few more Invaders and updated the map.
One significant addition is that I talked to Marilyn Wolfe the other day and she going to caravan out to the Invasion with the Midwest group! Going to be great having her there.
BTW, 44 Invaders listed so far.....and just over two months to go! YAHOO! |

New York was the first state to require license plates, back in 1901. In those days, you had to make your own. Sears even sold Kits! Massachusetts was the first state to issue them in 1903.

I just bought my first Type 3, a 1967 Squareback !
I was looking for some info on the net and came across the Invasion, can't wait to get there, but there is NO WAY the square will be ready by then.
Here is a pic.

75% of our cars at the 2006 Invasion were still in original paint, so drive it 'as is' if it runs! _________________ http://s169.photobucket.com/albums/u236/mr_bojangles500/

...because it's not working or because...? As long as it can drive from NE to CO (a paltry distance) then bring it. Some volks in the past trailered their car and that works, too _________________ Toby http://www.aircoolednut.com/

| I have not even brought it home yet! I am going to get it in the next couple of days. The PO bought it for his granddaughters school car because she wanted a VW, but turns out she wanted a new bug! So this sat in the weeds a few years. He said it was running when he parked it, but you know how that goes.... If there is HALF a chance I can get it going, I will bring it !!! |

Started the casting process for the Type 3 Invasion toy/sculpture. I successfully made the mold for the base-US map and so far I've made 8 copies. So far, so good Here's the mold:
Here's the first one out of the mold...they'll need just a bit of cleaning on the edges with the dremel before they are painted.
Here's a stack of completed castings:
I have not started casting the squareback yet- ran out of mold-making material It will have to wait until later this week.
So far I have had interest from several of you out there. Eleven orders to be exact I'm looking at making 15-20 of these, so let me know if you want one before they're all spoken for _________________ 1964 Type 3 Truck |
