That is sweet Shaun! I have not made the move on a sign yet, but most likely would not have been much. I am going to focus on three trophey's. Two for the two camp ground owners to pick their choice and one for a public choice.
PM how I can get a hold of Glen. I need some sign work/lettering and would like to keep it in the club.
Tony, what's happening in AK? Work or pleasure? Is AK like it is show on TV? I hope you can make the show next month so we can hear your stories. _________________ The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

| Anyone going to the Larry's show June 3rd? It's a sunday, so it'll make it kind of difficult, but I'm planning on going. |

Keith, David and I normally go to Larry's Off Road show. I am planning on going again this year. I don't know if I will drive a VW or pull one out with my truck (so I can bring home swap meet stash), or may sell in the swap meet. _________________ The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

That's funny, Glen called me this evening and told me he had a senior moment when he made the sign, but had it fixed now.
It was good talkin' with you the other day Keith, stop by anytime you're in my neck of the woods. By the way I'm not gonna sell off every VW I own, you just caught me at a bad time after dealing with a bunch of chinese junk parts and I wasn't thinking clearly. I'm sure you know the feeling. |

Hey Shaun glad Glen got everything fixed.
I know all too well about those China parts. Too much frustration too many times.
CTS is a month away. Sweet! |

Glenn stopped by and corrected the show sign last week.
Thanks for the donation from Kelly and Vic From Keth's Auto Parts in Elkview, we got our banner made. Super sharp. 8' X 3'
Got a good start on the Trophy's for the show. It has been 25 or more years since I have worked with wood other than rough construction. It is a lot of fun and I love working with old growth Oak. My dad and I restored this old Boice Crane table saw about 33 years ago. I might have re-kindled a old hobby.
Big Thanks to the following people:
Glenn for donating his time and materials for the show sign. It is large, visable and looks nice for a long distance.
Keith and Richard for getting the logo perfected and usable in many forms. We now have logo'ed shirts, hoodies, stickers, a cool banner, and emblem scripts. I do not know of very many car clubs across the nation with those options to "show your colors".
Vic and Kelly for the donation to help us get the show banner. Remember to support our local VW shop when possible. I read so many times on these forums about other VW hobbiest who do not have access to a good VW machinest that they can talk face to face and relay what they need, or have to ship parts back and forth during a re-build consuming months of time. Some other hobbiest that need simple parts and their only choice is to mail order, hope the person they spoke to sends the right part, wait weeks for simple shipping. It is nice to walk in and talk to the owner, know they will back up the service/part, have most everyday parts and a large stash of performance parts on hand. And thank you for coming by.
And to our cool club members who keep coming and bringing more people with them. _________________ The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

| Joe, saw you in the Thing on 60 this afternoon. It was a good day to take out your car as nice as it was. I was driving the 61 so I couldn't honk as it has never worked. |

| Good, they were built to be driven. I've probably put 3000-3500 on the 63 since i got it. It's having some brake issues right now, but nothing a little bit of time and a call to Matt Joseph won't fix. I'm hoping to get it fixed this weekend. I got pulled over in the 61 heading home from work earlier. He got me for a burned out taillight. He said nothing about the lack of safety belts though. |

I second that! Thanks to everyone involved. I have met a lot of great folks that have been very generous with their time, parts and knowledge. I also wish I had known about Keith's VW years ago when I lived in Pinch (at the time I had a '74 Super and mail ordered parts). I had never been to Vic's shop until I drove up last week and bought a new cylinder head for the Ghia and Vic was very helpfull. Thanks to him the Ghia engine is up and running now. I hopefully will have a test drive in the next few days. _________________ 'Nanner Yellow '73 Thing
