Good Day Eh,
Can anyone tell me if I have the right fan shroud set up?
I have a 1969 Beetle with an AutomaticStickshift and the original 1500cc SP rebuilt but I am upgrading the fan shroud to a doghouse set up but have two and have no idea if one is right or wrong or both or neither...]
HELP! PLEASE!
I am sick of listening to technicians who don`t have a clue about what they are talking about flip flopping on advice and answers.
Any and all help is appreciated!
I don`t know if it makes any difference, But I am sure some Sambanians do! Thanks again
The clean one is the doghouse fan shroud I am putting on and having the venturi ring from the rusty one welded on. Is it the correct one?
They both have an extra nipple, one on the side one on the back, Which I have no clue what they are for or if they are necessary
It has this extra nipple I have no idea what its for?
This black one is the Original I am replacing with the clean doghouse above. At least that is the plan.

It was just to pressurize the charcoal canister, which I'm thinking your bug would be before they started?
Just cap it off. |

| I'm pretty sure the rusty one is from a Beetle with fuel injection. I have a couple of those and noticed the relocated port for the carbon canister and no hole through the center for a throttle tube. I'd use the clean one and like Joel said seal the tube/port with a rubber cap. Or since you will be welding the Venturi ring, you could cut out and weld up that port for a cleaner look. |

Don't forget the dog house shroud gets a wider fan. My car was running hot when I bought it. I replaced the narrow fan the last owner neglected to upgrade and the car runs much cooler. _________________ 9 tips for selling on eBay |

The one you removed was A non-dog house shroud, the other two are for dog house oil cooler.. the nipple your looking at is to pressurize the charcoal canister, you would have A hose going from it to the canaster, then another one going from the canister to the carb/air cleaner,, the one with the nipple on the side is for A carb, the one with it in the front is for fuel injection.. Some guys like the FI ones for duel carbs _________________ 1302s sunroof..
