Kind of hit a slow point in the case of time and money, actually waiting on some parts to return to get the project moving forward in a big way! Stay tuned, hopefully some new pics will hit the thread in the next few weeks!

Took the standard to its 1st show over the weekend in Fredricksburg, Texas. Car did surprisingly well considering the car wasn't completely done and the stiff competition! Car placed 3rd in class (which was splits and ovals both stocks and customs) there were alot of nice cars in this class mostly customs, some I probably shouldn't have beat, but I guess someone had to lose.

Thanks, still a work in progress as the 16's are still getting painted and I need a couple of other things under the deck lid! Almost didn't even take it to the show but I'm very glad I did and now I'm looking forward to next years!

Yeah, every time I tried to catch up to you on I-10, you sped up. That Dodge diesel made short work of towing the trailer, that's for sure.

Ya, the reason I was moving so fast was cause the damn AC in my truck wasn't working for crap! I think I would've been better off driving the split, probably would've been cooler at least! Just had the thing serviced too, so you can imagine how happy I am, but ya the Cummins pulls really well sometimes I forget the trailer is even back there with no car on it!

Quick question for the more knowledgeable ones on here! Was messing around with my reserve handle yesterday (carpet is missing) and noticed 2 little screw holes on both sides which appears to be for a ZAR badge. Question is, were the ZAR badges used on both standards and deluxes?

It was great meeting and chatting with you at the monument. the car is even nicer in person and after meeting/talking with you I truly think the car was holding out for you man. Hopefully we can chat again sometime...

Quick question, was wondering if all the handles on standards were color matched to the color of the car or a different shade of gray?

I always thought they were body color. All of the period literature I have seen seems to support this. Interested in other data as I have an Peral Grey '51 Std. also....

I was not able to make the Harvest show, and asked a mutual friend about it. He told me that my friend with the split slammed it on Gasburners....scared the shit out of me.
Thanks Joel for going along with the ruse......you suck! Laughing
*relieved*
