i drove my bug through a bad storm and it got a little water inside but i dont think any of the electical systems got wet, but when i got to my destination my radio started shuttin off randomly and it would turn over, but it has power going to all the light except the head lights occasionaly, i can roll i down a hill and jump it off and it will run fine but the radio wont play, idk if there is a short in the radio causing some kind of short in the fuse panel causing the connection fromthe ignition to the starter to get little to no power, i am very stumped about this situation and really need help with it, thanks.

Huh?

You know what you're thinking, but you lost me. In general, with any electrical problems, I would suggest cleaning connections (a dremel with a wire wheel is great) and go over any associated ground connections. Using "star" washers is a great way to get a good ground with any terminals that are screwed or bolted to the body. The star washers will bit into the paint better.

if its a super beetle i would check the fuse box i had a cover on my fuse box and when it rained water would come in the seal and run down through the fuse box and cause my radio to turn on and kill my battery.....crazy

OK - so if its getting wet, you have corrosion - Fix the leak and go through your connections.

we cleaned all the connection up front and in the steering column and it fired right up, it might have been from all the water that got in or from all the dirt from driving it daily, thanks for the help
