|
|
Hi guys, just got around to setting the deck height on my buggy motor... I have had the rings off so long I forget which direction the rings face. there is a grove on the inside edge of the first ring and then a grove on th outside edge on the second...e
Do they bothe face each other, or to the head or to the crank?
Also this order good enough?
Top ring at 1:00, second ring at 7:00,top oil ring at 11:00,bottom oil ring at 5:00
there 94mm mahle pistons... (if that even matters) |

thanks
your gap spacing is ok, just make sure no gaps are in the gap of your ring compressor |

OK I have sealed the spacers and slid on cyl 3&4 and snugged up the head... How long you recomend waiting to torque the head down so sealant is OK (used ThreeBond 1211)...
Been so long I need to locate the parts... I will be looking for the rest to do tonight... will be nice to see the heads back on... been working on the DH for a loooooong time |

If it is fairly humid and you spread the sealant out some then it has probably already absorbed enough moisture to cure, torque er down! Don't forget the air deflectors and pushrod tubes |

Just in the process of doing exactly the same. My understanding was that it isn't too critical but if you can:
Top ring at 3:00, second ring at 9:00,top oil ring at 11:00,bottom oil ring at 1:00. I'm assuming the point is the gaps on the oil control rings are to be up. _________________ 73 - Ghia Cabriolet
