Depends what you want, old school cool, or new and shiney. I've run both an 010 and CB's Magnaspark2 both worked well.

Parts availability for both is up and down depending on where you are

I really like the 010 look but, performance wise what would be a better choice. I'm going to send the 010 to Glenn anyways so he can do his thing. I have another engine so the 010 is going to be used. Now for my build what distributor would better fit my engine???

Thanks

You won't go wrong with a Glenn Ring built 010

Please don't laugh at the video or my engine stand that I used. I'ts what I had. Any how the engine was strapped down to the motor cycle stand but the dam thing still torques over. Its my first build and I'm very happy with the results. It has a drop or two of oil leak but I can live with that. I had to send the 010 to Glenn, It would advance and then retard it would not keep timing. I figure its the springs, but I'll let Glenn figure that out. Slapped on a 009 and all was fine.

Video was taken with a phone camera so sorry for the sound really does not do justice. Will be getting a video camera over the weekend an post more video.

Well I can say that Glenn's customer service is amazing. He started on the 010 as soon as the package arrived. I also found out that my meaning of clean is not the same as Glenn's view of cleanliness Laughing Laughing

Here some pics of my Bosh 010 at Glenn's place....

Hey Glenn I though you would have asked about the Old stock condenser I had on there....

Carlos- It sounds great! Is that the final combo listed in your signature line? My apologies; I know I read it once upon a time, but who's heads did you use? Is a beefed trans in the immediate future? That stock '66 unit isn't going to last long....

The 4.37 r&p is ok with a smaller motor (it got my 1750 well into the 14's) but it's not really suitable for something fairly growly over 2 liters...

I think I meant to say smaller gears. I would like the gears to run a bit longer

Thanks All.

Sorry offtopic, but......I would not order anything from DRD. He is a great headporter for sure, but his customer service sucks big time. I did order year ago some normal stuff, like crank, flywheel and rods.

I paid the parts ($1610) immediately. At winter time he usually answered to me in a once month or so, and always same excuse. I newer got the parts, so almost two months ago I asked kindly about returning the money, and he promised to return the money. I have asked once In a week or two so that it won’t be forgotten. I haven’t seen the money yet, wonder why :LOL

I see that way that nothing will happen. This makes me angry. I have asked many times nicely from DRD. So stay away, if you want avoid similar!

I have bought from many vendors, Usa, Germany, Uk, Finland etc. and this is first time ever when things didn’t go well. I would get engine or parts from someone else, like veedub parts or aircooled.net, they have excellent customer service.
