I doubt you could buy them new but pretty well all RHD 1303s came with non locking latches, I swapped mine out for a locking Golf one.
Although I'll have a look at my spare ones today, I'm pretty sure they still have the provision to be a locking one just no barrel fitted and a blank plug for the hole.

If it appears to have a Lock On It - then it will be a deterrent to most casual pranksters or not so serious thiefs.
Even if the Lock doesn't work or is Un- Locked - the view to the general public of a Lock, is a deterrent !

My '70 sedan and my '71 SB convertible did not originally have locks there (and I've had them since the 70s). But I bought locking ones for them, and easy to install.

The Golf one does not work, it's not the right depth. Check the part number, if it's 171 at the beginning, it won't work. You have to use the 133 lock.

I wouldn't say "nearly all". Plenty of 1302S, 1302L, and 1302LS cars were sold in Europe, all with padded dashes.

Most luxury packages had them yes, but vast majority of Euro spec 1302 and 1302S didn't, but moot point anyway.
I busted my glovebox latch in the late 90s when I first bought my current bug, couldn't get a 1303 latch anywhere.
Got the 171 857 131 from a mk1 Golf.
Its identical apart from being about 3mm shorter so the catch just needed tweaking but 13 years later it's still there working well.

Can't find those rubber or plastic mounts in the body for the glove box hinge. ANYBODY??? |

It appears that any non-locking glove box latch for the '73 up Super has a plug in place of a lock. None seem to be made without provisions for a lock. Seems a little silly since a quick stab and pull with a screwdriver would break the plastic catch for the latch.
I did find myself a nice 1-screw late engine cover latch without a lock. This is the style with the black plastic button, kinda fitting since the secondary latch on the trunk lid has a black plastic button (on a ??-'79.) |

74 and up 
73 had the old round latch.
Locks only keep honest people out, no point making the latch too solid when the lid and glovebox itself are only plastic.
THe factory original non locking ones have a round plug that fits in the empty tumbler hole but the modern repoop ones are completely blank

I think Westcoast Metric used to list them, not the sort of thing that normally needs replacing so probably isn't a high demand for them. |

found one today !,.. wow i only found one in the intire swap,.. (3 screw with the M code) 2$ !!,.. and it was mint !
