What is the best option? My block is trash. I wanna reuse my jugs and pistons if they are still in spec. 1776 jugs. Oversized valves. Ready to put my buggy together. I really wanna get something that will work and not have to worry about the bottom giving up on me for some time. It is a 1600 dp block.

thanks,
Doug

What's your budget? Are you looking at buying new or at buying a used case and re-using it? CB Performance has these http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=184

From my perspective vintage VW's are beyond being used for daily driver purposes. It would be best to have your car parked in a garage, and kept away from the elements on a daily basis. Zack

Uhhh...yeah...I disagree

Unless you are pretty good at fab work, those choices will be a headache.

Swapped the Compufire for a Bosch blue and some points I had sitting around, started 1st crank. Took her out for a drive, pulls harder, more RPM, and runs smoother. I think I'll be sticking with points from now on.
