Is it just my crap computer, or is Dubkorps not working?
Also, I met a guy in my area who has a 1972 Beetle. It was originally savanna beige, and I told him that it looked like with the quality of the respray, he could probably get all that ugly yellow off pretty easily.
That brings the total Vdub census count in Memphis up to about, 20-25ish and maybe 30 if you count the ones that aren't drivable. _________________ BEETLE BUMS VW CLUB

you hook the wires up righttt? the switches point downward so the bubbles go out of them into the master cylinder. if your brakes are working your switches would bbe tooo _________________ My '70 baja

that makes sense, but I was lookin around and people were talking about pre filling em and I thought maybe that was my problem but your right the bubbles should come out on their own. They are the three prong type so there is really only way to hook em up and the brakes work great but I just can't get the lights to come on and it's really pissing me off. Ima test em with a meter when I can get somebody to press the pedal for me. _________________ 73 SB, Hormiga

I really don't like the new new beetle, at least not when it's got those wheels on it. And the rear end still is ugly as ever.
In other news, I might be buying a '57 sedan shell for $150, and getting to scavenge some good parts from a few wrecked '68 bugs, and possibly buying a decent '68 gulf blue shell.
ALSO, I'm hopefully getting a job at a Porsche racing garage by next week!!! _________________ BEETLE BUMS VW CLUB

wow great news. What will you be doing there? Also are you thinking on having another project or just cars to scrap bits and peices off of. _________________ 1974 SuperBeetle Build

Eh, sounds like I'd be doing alot of the clean up/organization around to shop,
and with the cars, if we got the '57, I think we'd just be chopping out the cancer, and trying to make a solid shell to re-sell.
If we get the '68 shell, we'd probably be trying to actually build it up into a functional car.
I kind of hope we get the '68 shell, but with the seller only asking $200 for the '57, we stand to make a decent amount of money off of that one once it's repaired.
Really I just want those pop-out windows! _________________ BEETLE BUMS VW CLUB

Hell yeah!!!
I met a guy in my neighborhood a while back who had an old '80's porsche 911, and two bugs in storage.
Apparently, he just sold the porsche, and has decided to get rid of one of the Beetles.
I dunno what year it is, or what condition it's in, but he wants to give it away!!! Pan, body, and engine!
We're going to see it tomorrow, so I'll get some pics to show you guys how good/bad it is.
I have heard that while replacing the pans he tried to bolt them in instead of welding, so I really don't know exactly what to expect. _________________ BEETLE BUMS VW CLUB

exept the pans to be bolted in and not welded Anyways, thats amazing. I freiken WISH i could get ANYTHING free around here. People charge you just to come look at the car. I went to go look at a beetle a few months back for a PARTS car, things didnt run (but turned over) had no pans and was cancer full. He wanted 10 bucks just to LOOK at it. I told him to f**k off and walked away. A free runing engine i would shit my pants over. _________________ 1974 SuperBeetle Build

PICS! and there is a catch!
the garage the car is stored in is on the verge of collapse, so before we try to move the car, we have to cut down all the bushes around the garage, find a way inside, and brace it up. Also the car's beam is not installed, so we'll have to use a dolly to move it out, then re-install the beam to get it on a trailer.
But it's free! And if we can get the previously mentioned '68 wreck, then we'll have more than enough to build one Beetle.
