I thought I'd share this. I produce a comic book and wanted to bring some life to it this year at our local comic con. SOOO, I made a Zombie Assault vehicle out of my manx style buggy. Talk about a home run, I had NO idea how popular it was going to be.
There's more pics here if you'd like to see more.

Thanks Vincent, it's hard to build a car and then 90% done turn around and do something completely different. A friend wrapped it in vinyl, so now it comes off. _________________ My comic : www.zombie2012.com

Fun stuff! We have a local zombie control chapter and they have a couple of sedans decked out as CDC "relocation" vehicles. Your buggy looks great like that. _________________ Gary

Jaymonkey thats fantastic!
I took a look at your pictures and it looks like everyone is having so much fun.
Great job on the buggy, looks like a zombie killer!
someone did a great makeup job on the zombie guy.
I was hoping for a picture of him sitting on the floor straddling the front tire
holding on to the Hood looking like he was getting run over
thanks for this post man it's awesome!
When you take the rap off can you take some pictures and tell us how it goes.
I've Always wondered how hard it is to get wrap off of fiberglass.
Thanks. |

Thanks guys! It was huge fun. We had a 20X20 booth this year, 360 degrees. I had 15 people working the booth and I was dizzy running around but it was huge fun.
The Make-up artis and actor doing the zombie are amazing. We had them last year and people were running up asking if he was here. 5 hours to get the make-up on, 3 to take it off. Once he was in make-up he wouldn't break character.
I'll take pics of removing the vinyl. It goes on with heat, come off with heat. It's pretty amazing stuff. My buddy has wrapped 200-300 vehicles and he said "technically" the buggy was one of the hardest he's wrapped. Serious curves. _________________ My comic : www.zombie2012.com

Why take off the vinyl? That is a great covering.
Do you have more pictures of the vulcan cannons? Pretty slick and look like Duke Nukem. _________________ If I knew what I was doing; I wouldn't be building a buggy! |

Thanks. It was an incredible amount of work and I'm really proud of how everyone did.
I woke up in Jan (shortly after I confirmed with the EXPO that I was bringing a "Zombie Assault Vehicle" in a cold sweat. I had a nightmare that I didn't have the car done. I've been working my ass off since. I would say it was about 90% of what I wanted
The zombies eventually won..
