How many modifications can you do to a bus? The following is a 1973 bus I saw at No Dough Bus show.

Ahahaha. Yeah. Although I can see them either being scrapped a long time ago, or being like the Interceptor worth a pretty penny because of the rare and one off parts that were used to make it. There is one semi replica of that car that I know of. I believe it was actually purchased for the movie but never kitted out the same. Someone took it on themself to track down / get made all the correct bits to make it like the one seen.

Took me a couple of looks at the pics to realize the 'body' is fabric. Pretty clever little set of wheels. Plow lights, good use of the space above the motor, dent-free bodywork, looks like water pipe for bumpers. Someone built that thing on a budget and still pulled it off. I'm surprised there's still .50 on the floor....

roland, are you using Chrome? If so, update it. I saw the accented e there.

What are the MB rims off? I have been searching high and low for years for a set of 15" steelies. I have a set but they are from a Vito. Totally unusable because of their offset. I mean they'd be fine of you didn't care about rubbing up back, or being able to steer.

it'd cost me $180 each to get my stock 14s re-rimmed to 15s so that's not going to happen. Don't want to wreck OE rims anyway.

BFGs and other such tyres I discovered just aren't available here in any real way so it's only commercials that are available to me in 14". i know, there's a thread for that. I just want to know what the wheels are from though.

15 merc rims are off C class sedan from 1996 to 2003 from memory. Not that hard to find. If you dont want to cut the rear guards or have issues rubbing bad on the front get some BFG 215/75/15. Offset on the merc rims are 37.

A couple weeks ago i put a bigger motor in Clyde ( 3.4L ) as the 2.8L broke a crankshaft and installed some KC Daylighters to brighten up the trails.. Cool

Plenty room... no jacking up for any engine maint... oil changes are a breeze.. set and forget tuning.. Hydro lifters.... can't hear it running from inside... and you can carry on a conversation at 70mph with anyone in the bus..... not to mention "Heat/defrost"... Cool

I've been very pleased with the conversion every since i did it.. the one setback was the broken crank... Rolling Eyes I've even made a couple 16hr trips across the states only stopping for gas and food..... I get 17-23 mpg depending on the speed i drive.... hills don't exist... even with the trailer.. Laughing

I probably had $2500 in the conversion when i first built it... I've upgraded a couple things since but still nothing major.. Cool

Here is my build thread: http://www.shoptalkforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=99299

Lovin' the new motor... More torque and 40 more HP...... It accellerates very strong with little throttle input but is not jerky or anything like that... very smooth ... Smile

The foglamp switch i used came with the light kit... It's a 30amp "Lited" flat switch and mounted in the stock dash ... Smile

Here is my build thread: http://www.shoptalkforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=99299
