57 kombi extra wires in harness

can someone id these extra wires in the wiring loom on this 57 kombi.

they are inside the factory loom along with the dome light wires that run up the a-pillar.

they have been cut off where they branch off for the airbox dome light at the roofline.

can they be for some sort of extra light as it looks like something was mounted to the roof at one time?

they are black/white stripe and blue

possible, but the og blue airbox cover was in place when found

Fan should only be one wire.

Looks like semaphore wiring for left side. Check the wiring diagram @

that's what i first thought, but i looked and no evidence of any semaphore ever being there; b-pillar is still og paint.
the harness did not have any wires that would have powered the right side sema.

Hans was a newbie and probably first trained to make semaphore wiring harnesses. Then he was changed over to the non-semaphore line and screwed up, but either was caught or he figured out the mistake before installing the right side wires...

Got to remember these VWs were made by real humans!
