What am I missing about the front apron in that one?

check the gap between the apron and the gas tank on the left, and see it's pushed in about 3 inches on the right? It's like it was cut out and re-welded crooked. Or more likeley, wrecked, pulled out somewhat, and bondo-d. Also the split right in the middle under the hood catch. The rubber in the middle is very telling as well

sucks, cause it's a cool looking car. Realistically, that's not all that hard to fix, but probably not worth it at that price point

Also no pictures of the rust.
I agree with EB, that's weird that it only has two miles on it..

And what's with the side trim being short on both doors? Did it get put on the front fenders instead? Also, what happened to the front section of the tunnel carpet? Rolling Eyes

bob the door chrome looks to me as late model rocker trim cut down.
i have seen the car in person a few times. i dont remember if all the side molding was the same like the door but i do recall the doors being late model rocker trim.

This car is another example of how all those hours spent looking at Highlights Magazine at the dentist/doctor's office as a kid pay off!

http://www.highlights.com/product/hidden-pictures-2012-4-book-set

One of the first things I noticed was the split at the lock in the frunk, then the buckled rubber on the right side...then the trim on the door.

Definitely not worth it at that price-especially with 'bubbles under paint' as an added bonus.

Fan shrouds are over-rated.

i bought a buggy with a type 3 engine that 'survived' without the fan shroud. it didn't last that long, but it didn't instantly burn up either...

I missed that. the rest of it looks legit. was "The engine photo was taken before the fan shroud was put on. It is now on the car" added later or did I really miss that too?

I checked out this thread last night and went to the ad and it did contain the statement above...didn't see it early on though.

Still overpriced...especially for a Fastback. Laughing

Here's a 1970 Notchback for sale in Austria:

http://www.autoscout24.eu/Details.aspx?id=213935706

Not much detail in the ad. I doubt it runs, but it's interesting to a late model without chrome trim, unless it was removed at some point...

Looks like it's a "standard", which is basically a late N model.

I'd say you're correct, especially since it has a 1493 cc, 45hp engine.

Why only trim on one side, though? I mean, I know the door was replaced, but put the damn trim back on.

Those were my thoughts too Tram... Aside from that, it looks pretty good cosmetically. The old Virginia plates are cool too.

For $14500, I'd at least expect heat, a proper air intake, working chokes, proper sound insulation in the trunk and on the engine lid...

98% restored? Don't think so...

Bought mine for $100. It also is NOS. Did anybody actually use/install these?
