I know that there is guy on the samba that reproduces them but I've heard stories of people somehow being reunited with thir old M-code plate by word of mouth. How can I go about trying to locate it? Is this something that would have been taken off the truck as a collector item or souvenir?
If anyone can offer some help,I'd appreciate it.
1962 L345 Double Cab
VIN 907651
Thank you

might help to post where it was found, any history you know of where the bus had been, etc.
I am one that was lucky, and found my buses M-Code plate. A lot of parts had went "missing" while sitting in the previous owners back yard. Sub hatch door, the jump seat, a lot of westy bits. We reached out to the bus guys in the nearby area, and sure enough, the sub hatch was sold to me (at a very fair price) only because it was the subhatch from that bus. He had 3 subhatch buses and 2 sub hatch doors, and now only had one, but he felt it was the right thing to do
While looking through the stack of Mcode plates, it dawned on his friend where my mCode tag was. he had it separate because it had rows and rows of mcodes, and he knew that someone would eventually get that bus. I really lucked out |

The only history I know about the DC is that it's been in Jax for at least 2 decades. Most of its history is was sitting in one back yard or another. The guy I purchased it from said it was in his back yard for several years and then before that, the previous owner lived on the westside where it sat for a number of years. How can I find out any other info? _________________ Rob |

Track down the west side guy...see if he has it and if not, where/who he got it from. _________________
