Well, its fun to let you all know what happened.
I was starting to feel uneasy about this deal for some reason, even though i knew it seemed like a good deal. The guy on the phone seemed alittle questionable in charachter and desperate to sell. So i thought i would look around on ebay to see if this welder was up for auction..sure enough i found two of them with only 1 day left, they were around 280 bucks. So i thought dang i bet i can get it cheaper on ebay (new). Since i was questioning this guy already i just called him back and told him what i saw on ebay. He said listen i really need the cash thats why im doing this...how about 350 for the welder. I thought dang...this is worth a chance.
Anyways, long story short (sorry to much coffee)..he came over last night, the box was never opened, the foam plastic around the welder was still intact, you would have to rip it to get at the welder. So i said ok..gave him 350 bucks! Took all of it out of box..SWEEET!!!!!
By the way, i looked at the "completed" ebay auctions for this welder and none of them sold for less than 450..so i made the right move.
Anyways, just wanted to share my deal with my dub buds...now the fun begins.
Thanks guys
RICK

Don't kid yourself, you got a great deal on a good, new machine! Way to go. Next time I'm looking to purchase something, I'll call you in as my negotiator! _________________ scrapyards are for quitters

Im going to add this for eastwood for those who never experienced it. I like it but the gun wasnt the best because the insulator keeps falling off so i might consider to update my gun from a local welding shop. Other than that the welds are good and i am satisified with the quality. Davonzip, great choice and good buy. You will not be disappointed with lincoln. _________________ 74 Super Beetle SOLD

I too have an Eastwood 175 mig machine. Love it but the gas nozzle is a pos. After few uses, it just loosens up from the insulation and falls off. Other than that, the gun is fine for me. I am planning on getting a nozzle from local welding supply. Gun is compatible with tweco style nozzles. |

ok,heres my 2 cents worth. i was in your shoes couple years ago. i bought a hobart handleer 140 new. it replace the 135. judgeing from the pic. you might need a new cable/gun. might i said. it can go gas or flux im quite sure. got mine from northern,a free shippn, auto dark helmet, all for $460.
if i was you i buy new. why?,you sure what you got and not spending $ down the road on worn out stuff you dont know squat about now.
homedepot, tractor supply carry lincoln, hobart and consumables. for $300 to $500 you can buy new. miller is really good($$),they make hobart and some stuff can swap. you only need 110 volt ,able to do gas and fluxcore. if you just begining use gas. you can see and understand the welds easier than fluxcore(gasless). bite the bullit and spend money on a gas bottle. if you got a buddy who knows welding stuff have him check out used units. 125-140 amps all you need. checkout northern tools. they carry hobart, lincoln maybe and they're own, which i bet are some manufacturers reconditioned units repackaged. clark is another less $ units. dont use cheap wire. only lincoln, miller, hobart. no U.S. forge or russian or harbor freight crap. |

x2 on using good wire. That's one of the most crucial parts of getting a good weld. Don't use Harbor Freight wire. You can get good deals on quality wire on Amazon. Here's a pic of my welder, an HTP 200, that I picked up for $300. I love it.

| Great score! Similar story to mine. My old landlord knew a guy selling a NIB Lincoln 175 Weld Pak mig that needed cash. My landlord bought it with a bottle for $275 then sold it to me for $300 with the full bottle. |
