also can i switch the pop tops the sports mobile has a stright top but the canvas is ruined so i want to put my westy top on it

The engine swap isn't a big deal, the pop top will be. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

| You might have to find a flex plate for the auto trans if the original engine is gone from the sportsmobile. Sportsmobile is still in business. You might be able to buy a new pop top canvas from them. They are in Indiana. |

| I am not sure on the flex plate if it is interchangeable with a 2L. Not something you want to guess on. I believe the metal roof of the bus might be different from the westfalia to the sportsmobile. |

Yes, one of the few parts that interchange, you'll need an auto starter though.
The top on the SM is designed for a regular bus roof opposed to the Westfalia which had a special body from VW with a flat, reinforced cutout, the WF roof will likely fit on with some tweaking but the curved roof will leave no room for a bed up there. Besides SM pop tops are pretty useful as they are, fix the canvas and enjoy it for what it is. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

A whole helluva lot easier than swapping a pop top that doesn't really fit _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.
