|
|
I recently took my regulator out due to installing a larger motor that has what i believe to be an alternator. I believe its wired right with the wire from the battery spliced together with the large red wire going to the back, and the large red wire going to the front. I have also spliced the warning light together and it goes off when the car is started. My problem is when the car sits the battery goes completely dead to where the generator and oil light wont show and my starter wont do a thing. I'm guessing I have caused a draw somehow but am confused as to what would cause this. It never had a draw before removing the regulator. When the car is running the alternator puts out good voltage (13.5V) but my battery doesn't last long before I have to charge it again. Any insight would be greatly appreciated before i try to track down my draw.
Here's my car so far
Here's a decent shot of the alternator

13.5 is the minimum
You really need 14.5
do you have a good battery ? _________________ Experience always triumphs over hearsay and You get to select which theory to believe |

| Thanks i will use that method to test it. I guess it could be the battery, although it has been fine for the last year of mostly sitting and being moved every couple of days. |

Batteries can last for ten years or batteries can die brand new --
You have to be able to load the battery with a tester to find out if it is good

| Nice color. Are those fiberglass fenders? Fronts look like they don't have headlights cut out, but I might be seeing things. If they are, how are they? |
