So it would seem I have the wrong carb or distributor, although the car does run quite well with plenty of acceleration when pushed, except the occasional flat spot. Although all it would appear I'm getting is mechanical advance. Hmmm.

Don't know about the distributor position ... it runs, stops, restarts well.

The big question then is, with the current DVDA distributor, what carb would you recommend I search for? I do have some local sources for parts Smile

Or should I replace both??

btw ... I switched the vac hose to the side port on the carb and plugged where it once was connected. No difference in performance.

Thanks guys for all your help.

Larry

Personally, I'd keep the H30/31 (I've had really good luck with them). Cap off all the fittings, and get a decent 009. Search the classified for a Bosch unit.
I use a Bosch 010 but those distributors (and parts for them) are getting pricey.

Let me ask ya this; If I went with a carb for the duel port heads, what would it be??

I have two engines running them, both 1600 dual ports.
Almost any carb will work if it's set up and jetted correctly...

so if I could find a decent and/or rebuilt 30PICT-1 carb and keep the DVDA dizzy I have (is that a Bosch 019?), I'd be ok?

I doubt it.
The SVDAs and DVDAs were only meant to work with the corresponding 34PICT3 carbs.
