So i have two 12v two speed wiper motors i dug out of my drawer 'O' wiper stuff. had to tinker with them both to get them to work properly. one of them is good, the other won't shut off when i turn the switch off. it will go to the rest position, pause, then go through one cycle, then pause, one cylce and keeps repeating. if i pull the metal motor cover off it will stop. it's like it's shorting out through the covernsome how to make it cycle, messed with it for an hour, couldn't figure out what the deal is.
any help?? thanks

Is there any chance one of the wires is makeing cross contact, or a bad switch? I had to go over mine several times while looking at the motor manual wireing diagram to get mine to finaly work. A couple of crossed wires made mine do funny things also.

i'll look into it tonight more(hopefully). after i put everything back together it all looked to operate correctly. If i just used direct power it would still contiue with the problem, so i know it's not the wiper switch. Inside where the parck position contacts are everything seemed to work good, there are two points, one with the hot wire that puts it in the park position and the other which goes to 31b. so when the motor is in park, there is juice going to 31b from the motor. what is this terminal for? I was wondering if i could wire up a small momentary button that could be used for a one cycle swipe? just thinking outloud.
Back to my issue... Like i said, it keeps cycling until i pull the metal motor cover off then no errors?? I'll let you guys know what i come up with. Thanks
