I've seen some mounted in an external oil filter housing and others in a tee at the same spot, I'm just wondering if any additional ground wire is necessary because the external oil filter housing is aluminum? I wouldn't think so but thought I'd ask.

Not as long as the filter housing is grounded. Aluminum is actually a better conductor than steel.

So not use TEFLON tape as a sealant on sender.... Its a Insulator...
