Guys,
As a newbie here I thought maybe I could start with an offer to help fellow Samba members as to their cars. Over the years, I have collected much material as to actual build dates, original motor numbers and more---especially 4-cam ones. I do not have everything by a long shot....but if I can tell you the car's actual birthday (not to be confused with dates on the kardex which are not birthdates) original motor number and more----if I have it.
Give me a shout on the Forum or not.

You are a lucky man, Brian--
Finished production 6 February 1959 (my 12th BDay)
motor 83333
trans 26127
no radio
came with hardtop.
note color stuff and options stuff not on prod records. since this is not a 4-cam, I do not have that stuff.

That's interesting. The hardtop wasn't listed on my Certificate of Authenticity. What do you expect for $100 _________________ Brian O'Kelly

Brian,
Yep I thought interesting re the hardtop.
If the damn book is ever finished, among other stuff, the reliance on the color code letters A, B, C will go out the window----now it is largely correct---but we found nearly 60 out of say 1,200 4-cams where themain int color was different than that which the kardex would note.

Thanks for the offer Steve! If you have any info on 51576 that would be great. They couldn't determine a date for my COA. _________________ Jack Stenner

Steve
I think my Fast Frieda will be 50 in June. Her number is 121123. Do you have anything in your database on her?
Thanks.
