Any more photos or information on this? It's pretty cool.
(/EDIT)

Listed in the Gallery as "Military Observation Bus":

I wrote a rather lengthy research paper on the "Utilitarianism" of the Early Volkswagen Transporter/Bus designers/engineers while I was at UC. In one section, I used both of the above buses (as well as the military radio/communications buses, drawing a vague 'weaponization' connection), to illustrate the plasticity of the Transporter line of VW products.

It was a 'multi-media project that was posted to the UC's website.... but it must no longer be up because my bookmarks don't work anymore. Bummer that I don't have a working file of the finished project, as that's the only piece of writing/work that I do not have archived. Crying or Very sad

Hey Velve.... this is very irritating, the link has been dead since the OP of the add deactivated it, meaning that when you link to an actual AD, instead of the URL of a specific image in the ad, your hotlink dies later. This is what is irritating to me, and I am sure to others that hit the links like this that you post.

Don't get me wrong, Velve, it's just that the link is dead.... that's all. Look at what I do with the next post of yours in this thread. Wink

After the link above dies, the image ol' Velve here is trying to illustrate, a Jersey Looker, will still be view-able to others that frequent this thread in the future.

Just doing my duty here... Wink don't mind me.

Personally, I think that this one is one of the more tastefully done examples.... and I just thought that this image shoulda been preserved properly. Confused

Thanks duhbrr... Wink

Something I can't help but notice is the uneven spacing between the checkerboard on the belt line. Tape measures aren't that hard to use.

Hmmm! I took that picture and have looked at it many times. Never noticed that. I think it's a case of being so ugly you can't see the trees for the forest.

The ultimate Barndoor but with fried eggs. I wonder what's behind the huge gas door: the huge barndoor filler?

Huge advances are made during times of "weaponization". I see what may have become the wide hatch glass and width. What year is that bus?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

the above bus looks like the love child of a bus, an outdoor storage shed, far too many rivets and an airstream.

bonus marks for using the hacked out bulkhead to cover the rear tires

This was some farm project at one time. Hell of an all terain vehicle. But it was cut in half cleanly, and has since been rescued from the salvage yard. Sans heavy duty running gear.
