meant 250!! I get excited easily. What would have made that much silver grey sludge??? I'm stumped

Did you set up the pinion, ring, and carrier when you rebuilt? The teeth interface will create fine fine metal but the magnetic plugs should be attracting that. Could the sludge be magnesium?

I did set that all up. The magnetic plugs only had a few hairs on them. Nothing seemed too extreme. It has to be magnesium because of the color of the oil. I really took my time in cleaning the opening in the case when everything was out of it. I didnt use any chemicals. Just a huge amount of cloths and paper towels. new oil was put in when reassembled last August. I just refilled the transmission with fresh oil this afternoon and ran it for 15 minutes(cut short by thunderstorms) No noises that I can hear, maybe alittle whine. I will run it for a thousand miles and change the fluids again. Hopefully, this will flush it a bit. Im really hating the smell of gear oil now. I saved the oil and still stare at it Wondering what the hell made that happen. We shall see!!

sorry to hi-jack, but....I'm getting a click/tick noise and used the late style
fulcrums with the early axles...seemed to go together nice...?

Will it damage the axles and fulcrums if their mismatched early/late?

Thanks
