Here's a good question about Oval parts............

Why are OG Oval Window Windshield Wiper Blades so expensive????

Seems I cannot find a source for them that's within a reasonable price, (like $40 to $60 a set) they all are in the $100 + area. (maybe I'm looking in the wrong places for them?)

I'm not a cheapskate/or lowballer when it comes to paying out for really nice N.O.S./Deadstock or rare parts, but the wiper blades seem to be stupid money! Sad

I just recently bought a set for my '56 and they were $ 25.00 for the set from my local VW supplier. I kind of thought that was a little high, but like supporting my local owned machine shop/parts house.

I'm not sure why they're so expensive. I have a couple of sets and I think the $60 range is about right, but even when I tell people that price they still look at me like I'm crazy.

It might be worth 60.00 if it's a really clean blade.

It's the same name but are you sure it's them? They're in Iowa right? All these items are listed are in NJ.

For the last time, there is no such thing as a "Rare 1957 square window ragtop"

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1319968
Quote:
1957 built late in 57 and used the 58 shell

If it was built after Aug 1 1957, it's a freaking 1958 Model year car.
If it's using a '58 shell, it's a 1958!
