Correct shift plate for a '57?

I have a feeling this is for a later Beetle.
Can anyone verify for me?

Schwing,

I think shift plates were the same up to at least the early 70s and were the same for the bus thru the bay years. The only thing I see with the plate youre holding is there is no tab on the portion nearest your palm.

Thanks that's what I noticed as well. If I see the other style in swap I'll snatch it up, otherwise it's this one until then.

I believe that is correct for a '57.

The tab on the left was added in the mid-60s I think.
They are interchangeable.
