Hello all... I know I tended to lurk here more often than not but I just wanted to say thanks you all for all the help and support whenever I had a question. You are all amazing (even the snarky people lol) and I really appreciate it.

That said I will probably not be by for awhile. I've made the tough decision to start the process of selling my '73 vert Beatrix. I'm not in a rush so I'm hoping to find her a good home. That said I do sincerely hope that someday I will acquire another Ghia and perhaps be in a situation where I own a home and have a garage so I can learn to do certain things myself.

Anyways that's all. I just wanted to let you all know how much I appreciate the advice and suggestions and for not making me feel too much like a noob Wink

Sorry to see you go and just when I'm starting my own Ghia project, was planning on asking YOU a couple of questions --- Just remember this isn't one of those clubs where you have to own a vehicle to be in it -- I didn't own one for 20 years before I bought back in -- Come back occassionally just to keep the 'Jones' satisfied LOL

Sorry to hear that. I've owned ghias since 1989 and, with the exception of when I rented a townhome with a single car garage from 1992-94, didn't have a garage until 1997. You can do it, but you will likely catch flak as a renter because working on your car violates most rental agreements. It was difficult, but I made do with a ghia as my only car during those years.

Good luck pyralis, I am sure you will be back, you will miss your Ghia something fierce, and get another one....or maybe Beatrix just won't let you go, you have put a lot of love into her. It does help a lot to have your own space, I am moving myself at the end of the next week to Ohio and contemplated selling my 58, because I am a little worried about the weather up there as compared to living in Tucson, I just can't bring myself to do it, kind of looking forward to driving around in the weather, get some snow tires, could be fun. Keep us posted on the sale or not sale. Cheers!

Good luck! It is always eaiser to own a Ghia when you have a garage to work on it and store it out of the weather.

Yeah I've been living in an apartment and am looking at buying a house.. the apartment people harass me all the time about the car. That said I have NO back up for when Beatrix needs repairs. I am afraid though, that when I get a house and a garage and have a reliable "primary" vehicle that I won't find another Ghia Vert in as good condition as Beatrix. Pans aside she's practically rust free.

But you're all probably right, even without her I doubt I'll be able to keep away from the forums. I've been bitten buy the VW bug and am in love and really enjoy looking at everyone elses ghias too.

Oh and Fiatdude you're more than welcome to ask me questions. I don't know much myself about repairs but if you're in the OC area I know a bunch of great places & people to get VW stuff etc Wink

Hey there sweet pea, no worries letting your love go, I have been contemplating the same. If you love them, you will let them go...... The person they end up with will be better for that. When you are ready for a new project you will find it. Let go, and grow...............If you do find yourself lonely, and board, I will send you photos of nakednes, debotcherdy, and rehab. No, its not Charley Sheen, it is the piece of shit I am trying to restore. It will be like porn, you can watch the debotchery, sickness, and pleasure, decide what you want to feel, then log out when you "get board"..........Wink For all of you that want to point out my bad spelling,
save your key strokes. I work with my hands, and can't use these computers to save mylife.
