| Petr: You have touched the hearts of lots of VW bus drivers across the country. Think we are all better for having met Petr in some of his travels. God speed my friend. |

And for those of us who didn't meet you, you still inspired us!
There's NO way I would've attempted my last little mini-adventure if I didn't read your thread and I am very thankful for it! Taker easy!
And this thread has been very different and enjoyable, I hope others take up the travel mantel (sp?). _________________ 57 PGSG 'Carpet Bus'

Petr and Erika, will you make it back to do the other states? Doesn't seem fair for the USA to send you away overseas with your bus wanderlust still lusting. Plans? _________________ '67 Beetle

I hope so! I am not leaving my bus after all this
I need to leave now so I don't overstay my visa since that would prevent me to coming here for 10 years. And I certainly don't wanna become illegal since that would prevent me from leaving the country for future travels.
I have couple travel plans/dreams lined up in my head:
- drive this bus from New York to Panama across Mexico and Central America while visiting more US states
- ship this bus to Europe some day (maybe)
- travel from Czech Republic to China across Russia and middle east in a bus
- go to South America and buy either barndoor (unlikely) or Brazilian bay/split hybrid bus (more likely) and visit all countries in south America
So stay tuned for more adventures. I am still struggling with financing my travels effectively so they maybe breakd between my journeys. Like last time: the bus was sitting in Texas for year before doing this trip. I need to figure out a way to make money while on the road, but i am not there yet. But if I don't die prematurely I will keep traveling, that's for sure! so stay tuned _________________ Hi! My name is Petr and I wanna be your friend!

Well heres an idea on how to finance this world trip, just call some corprate companies to sponser you and the road trip. Maybe Goodyear for some tires, Royal Purple or GTX etc for the lubes, maybe MGM Casino for the gamble it takes to do this, and then get a nice camara and film all this stuff as you go along.
There was a show like this, the guy was from Australia, I think his name was Abbey Mangles, and he was a retired brick layer and sold everything and went all over the world just talking to people like you did. I'm sure some of the Aussies know of him better. He bought a yacht, and an airplane and was on the Historey channel. Anyway good luck. _________________ I know you would understand what I'm saying if you could just see my HANDS

YES, I know. I don't have Canadian Visa thou… I still didn't investigate what does it take to get them. Plus it's sooooo big and no one lives there, I am scared of the vast emptiness (hahaha, I am joking of course).
The truth is the biggest block are the visas and the money. The cheaper countries are higher on my to-do list. _________________ Hi! My name is Petr and I wanna be your friend!

| Petr: As to the money; have you thought about turning your travels into a book and selling the book? Heck, at least most of the people on the Samba who have been following your travels would buy it. |

How about a trip across Australia too. We'd love to help you out here.
Yes, Alby Mangles was an Aussie traveler of a kind although he was a bit of a tosser. He did some stupid stuff on camera to make stuff "exciting"......... _________________ Cheers & God Bless

You have to do it Andy |
I'd like to but to begin with I have 5 little kids and a full time job.
Also it would be great to have a new set of eyes do the trip.
If swinging a suitable vehicle for the trip is an issue I'm sure we could find one and have it ready for you.
I agree about the sponsors thing though.
You could line it up to appear at events across Australia, whether they be town fairs or car shows or whatever.
People would be interested and it could help you out. _________________ Cheers & God Bless

I would think really hard about travelling in Mexico, there is a war going on with the cartels and it is crazy over there!! There are so many parts of the US still to see and tons of Samba members that would help out. I like the book idea. Try and involve some sort of a charity so the news will cover you and more sponsors will kick in. _________________ 61 Ghia

Do you follow my story from the beginning? I spent more than a year in Mexico I've got the idea about the war down there. _________________ Hi! My name is Petr and I wanna be your friend!

But as I said, my plans include both traveling more in USA (especially the north west that is unknown to me) and I would like to see more of Central and South America. The places I have seen so far were spectacular and I think it only gets better when heading south.
As of writing a book: I already thought about that. But my English is not good enough to write a book I think. And I have no idea what it takes to do something like that. Publishing and all that stuff. _________________ Hi! My name is Petr and I wanna be your friend!

Having Just read the ENTIRE 30 Pages,
I have to say,
Well Done and Congratulations for doing what you did.
To the guys who helped out Petr along the way.
Thank you for doing what i would've done.
Write the book,
And fill it with pictures of your travels,
your English is indeed good enough.
I, for one, would buy it.
When (not if) you get your Bus to Europe, make the trip to Ireland.
At the rate you covered so much of America(s),
You would finish the little 'ol Island of Ireland in no time.
All the best,
D.C. _________________ I'm In Ireland
