Okay, Patrick has been paitiently waiting as we finished up a couple other customer cars. and now its all him till the end. I finished welding in the under side structure including crossmembers, outriggers, jack points and top hats etc. Then I sand blasted the belly side and epoxy primed the entire area. I also got his long rocker welded into place and the inner structure bottome along with the lower B pillar section., I then ren a wire reammer down each cable tube under neath to make sure all of them were clear. and then prepped and installed his new belly pans!!!!!
I also finised up the frame repair sections as well. We should be ready to trial fit his over the top and one of a kind suspension/tire combo by the end of next week to see if we need to make any wheel well mods beofre painting the underside!!!!! Patrick does have his under side color picked out but i think i will hold out telling it till I bring it out of the paint booth!!!!! Its going to be a Killer color combination for sure!!!!!

Wow, very nice work...this will be a sweet Bus in the end.
One question, the cross member that is the centre seat belt mounting points. Did you save / use the original one, or purchase a new one? I was unable to source one out for my restoration (but was able to save it).

Thanks for the kind words gentlemen!!!
Gordo, we were able to save Patricks middle crossmember fortunatly. However i would THINK Gerson probably offers that section if needed but dont know for sure. Also If he didnt and we needed one we would take a regular crossmember and with a little fabrication and welding we would have one to install. You would just need some measurements to go off of. If you need measuremenst give me a shout and I will get you some.
Thanks and Good Luck. _________________ Joe

Patrick,
I didnt get a chance to update your thread last night so I figured i would take a minute and get you caught up this morning/
I got your front lower nose skin all welded up and ground down and shaved your old antena holes and other misc who knows what holes that were drilled in to her??. I then moved to the rear of your bus and got your frame straightened the rest of the way and welded back up from the previous wreck damage. I then installed your new battery tray and right side engine sheet metal then welded the rear corner skin back into place. And aligned your decklid opening and apron fitting area. MOst all of the large welding and rust repair is pretty much complete. and Now theres just a bunch of smalltedious spots of rust that we need to get rid of next. And then it will be go time for bodywork!!!!!!!

Another good day of welding on this beast!!!!!! Not a whole lot for pics but another day closer to completion. I spent most ofthe day welding up small pinholes and small misc rust areas. I also got the rear underside heat duct welded in place and then pre fit the safaris and got the brackets welded onto the front pillars!

East Coast Cornerstore has them in stock, in Canada. I was looking at the shelves of metal today when I picked up my order, quality is amazing.

Thanks guys!!!! Yeah Jerry this ole girl has seen better days but fortunatley theres guys out there saving these girls because once there gone there gone!!!
I ve been welding away on all the misc rust spoyts on this beast. I wrapped up the right front wheel well rust repair and then just about have both rear wells repaired. About a day or two away from prepping the bottom for paint i believe! I also layed out your donor parcel tray and got the old swiss cheese cut out and the donor section welded in . Then i cut out your acess hole so that you have plenty of access room to fine tune that Killer type 4 motor your putting in her! I then started fabricating the channel for the cover to sit in. I was lucky to find a type 3 engine cover local however the guy wouldnt let me cut out teh surrounding metal for the channel it sits in so I said to hell with it and started fabbing you one up!!!!!

Im still here guys. Ive been grinding and welding away at all the little reas that were rusty!!! Not a lot to see but a lot of progress none the less! I did locate a heater log and sandblasted it then got it welded in place. I also got both right side wheel wells all done and just about done with the left side. So the bottom is just about wrapped up! Hopefully by the end of the week i will have some good photo worthy progress for you Patrick!!!
