Hi everyone,

I'm just about to install new rockers and replace part of the cargo floor on my '59 bus. The reinforcement pillars, which attach to both the floor and the inner rockers (the pillars which run vertically down the the inside walls of the bus), have rotten off at the floor.

I'm wondering if anyone has ever made these and has suggestions and if there is a template available. It seems as though they would be fairly easy to make once I can figure out the curve. I called California Imports and they don't carry these, although they told me people often just make this part. Interested to hear your thoughts.

Thanks!

It is.
I wonder how easy it would be to make these? Or do most guys order these guys from Klassicfab? I have all of the other sheet metal I need already. I'm in Canada, so I have been dealing with Cal Imports. No luck on these reinforcement pillars.

The guys on the phone said they are not hard to make - I thought I'd ask the folks on the Samba what they thought.

Not a big deal if I have to order these though, I suppose. Thanks for the tip.

I got parts from www.bustoration.com . no problem with shipping or border stuff. He sells Gerson pieces (funky green bits) which I would highly recommend, for fit, strength and longevity. Those vertical supports mount to the side panel and if they are off a bit the side panel will be wavey.

Gordo.

I don't want to throw in another suggestion to confuse things, but have you tried Concept 1 (www.concept1.ca)? They are located in Calgary and I do know they supply Klassic Fab metal (and possibly Autocraft).
