I was delighted to receive the 'Birth Certificate' for my 1965 Beetle yesterday. Arrived in just 8 days!

The main thing that stood out for me was that she was built in Belgium! I had no idea that VW were producing cars in Belgium in the 60's, so this was news to me. I was wandering if anyone had come across this before? Were many cars built in there or just a modest few?

I saw that many cars show country of destination in Europe. Are all those cars Euro-spec beetles, or it was just a first destination, from which it was then delivered to some other place, for example America?

It seems that they built some bugs in Belgium, but that was not the final destination, just another factory facility. See this post: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1824140&highlight=#1824140

I received mine today, took about three weeks but I have some questions. It states that my wheel rim should be L87 pearl white and my wheel disc should be L41. So the outside of the wheel is white and the inner black, or the whole wheel is supposed to be white?
