What year would those lenses be for ruben? Ill try and take a picture of my set up so I can get an idea of what I have...

I am on to the fuel tap rebuild. I got the beast apart and all the seals crumbled apart also. I can get the screens & seals from W.W. but the "manifold" or "flow divider" thingamajiggy part. It looks like the one W.W. sells but it has only 4 holes and 4 rounded off corners to hold it in place. Anyone know where I can get one or am I SOL and have to either make one or buy a whole new tap?

I am half way through restoring the fuel tap for my zwitter.
I was digging around in my "box o' parts" I have in the closet looking for seals and found a fuel tap that I must have bought somewhere.
The tap on the left was on my zwitter. Anyone know the year of the tap on the right?

With the arm it looks to be Barndoor Bus.

I can't tell if it's 6mm or 8mm.
6mm being 53-55 Barndoor
8mm is earlier.

Cleaned up the glove box for my zwitter. Some dumb kid had poked a hole in it to run the wires through from his 8 track. Er...um.. we won't mention his name. Embarassed

Patched the hole with epoxy then sanded. The sanding removed some of the paint so when I went to paint it I was getting blotchy areas where the primer was soaking in. So I sprayed it with a polyurethane clear to act as a sealer, roughed it with some 600 grit and primered it again. To get the bluish - gray color I used a mixture of some Model Master paint (from their military paints, see mom I wasn't sniffing glue I learnt to paint..sniff sniff). Mixed a ½ ounce Intermediate Blue FS35166 with ¼ ounce of Gunship Gray FS36118 and about and ounce of thinner.

but here is the finished product. The hole was in the lower right hand side.

The bumpers on my zwitter were badly pitted, dented and a little bit tweaked. (I had them chromed once before in 1975 for $200 but they did a real crappy job, they didn't remove any dents and they soon pitted. This time I decided to get them done right so I sent them to Paul's Chrome in PA. But they wanted my 401K, my first born and a liver. So I bought a couple of reproductions from WWest. They were nice quality but lighter than original and they didn't drill holes for original position of bumperettes citing that "many customers like to put them in a different position". I decided to to go hold up a couple of 7 Elevens and send out my original bumpers to Paul's.

From the front the bumpers are superb, true craftsmanship. Unfortunately that didn't apply to the back side, grind marks, poor chrome and worse there were four places where they attached rods to the bumpers while they worked on them. When I called them about it I got an all to familiar response "Normally we grind those off BUT we had a new guy helping us yada yada". (It must be a industry standard answer). Long story longer, I ground them down, sanded and painted them.

Nice work. I like how those shops charge you "the ultimate" price, then deliver mediocre results. Make sure you put some vendor feedback in the feedback forum about Paul's chrome.

While waiting for my interior to come from WCCR I figured I would buff out the paint. Well it's taken 4 months and no interior yet and I kinda got carried away. I am an advocate for leaving the paint as it was from the factory, a little dull... but it started looking kinda nice and well.....oops....maybe I can let it set out in the sun for a bit?
