VW Archives? Colors

I am getting to the point in my 64 coupe resto where i am needing to choose colors. I really would like to find out what the original colors were and restore it to its former glory. Is there some form of VW Archive that i could contact or somewhere where i could find this information from my VIN number? I would really appreciate it.
