| I have been using a red top for over 11 years in my 73. Originally bought it for my then new 95 Dodge Ram.Did not know they had different sizes. When I bought they had the red top[ and the blue top. The housings were the same size. It fits just fine. |

Running with a Red Top. The Blue/Red/Yellow tops denote the different amount of deep cycling and total amp-hours - Blue is for marine batteries (which means you can discharge it more often before it dies and fits standard marine battery sizes) and Yellow for both better deep cycle and higher capacity. They're both better than Red, but more expensive. They're all great. _________________ VW-181 shirts and stickers.

Ive looked through several battery threads, and it seems the optimas are all about an inch higher than the stock 42's. How does that translate to seat spring clearance?
or do you just get the cover? it looks like they only make the cover for the 34/78s though.

| I run the side terminal Optima and it eliminates the clearance issue. |
