|
|
Last week I hit a deer while camping on Drummond Island and crunched in the entire front end of my 1970 VW Bus. I am devastated and Django (my bus) feel embarrassed. I am looking for help on where to get another front nose panel. I have tried GoWesty.com but they don't have it. Busboys.com has one (full over the windshield as well and windshield down...but not sure if this is a "good one") and MidAmerica Motorworks is having me strike out as well.
Does anyone know of a good place to go? I have a body shop that is going to do the work for me (as I don't have torches and welders) but need some help to point me in the right direction. I have also read in multiple places that a lot of these aftermarket panels don't match up that well and take some finagling to get the panels compatible. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I will give them a call tomorrow. I also took your advice and posted this again in the other forum. Thanks.

Also try way out salvage in AZ. Post a pic.
It may be cheaper to just have it pulled out. Save some cash up and get one of the repro Hurst bars to prevent this from happening again. Good luck! |

Hoody, Way Out Salvage in Arkansauce is one long way away from Aridzona. Although Blair and Son here probably has a rust free nose.
Jen, that is one absolutely gorgeous bus outing picture. _________________ The best thing that anyone can do for their Bay is get the Volkswagen of America Official Service Manual published by Robert Bentley. Without it the bus is pretty much doomed.

thanks buddy....i got lazy...working on a online application....im 95% in the door at a local les scwabb (fingers crossed) and the only thing i have left to do is the online assessment , and a drug test. this assessment sucks. wish it was as fast and easy as a drug test, where the hardest part of passing is trying to make myself pee.... _________________ MINE - 1978 Westfalia ~ Maisy ~ FI, Hydraulic Valves, Electronic Points, 2.0 (NEED A SET OF HEADS, PM ME IF YOU HAVE A SET)
