Yes, a search will turn up plenty! I currently have a late phatchick disc beam in my '65 Dormy but it had to be hacked into it. Idealy an early ball joint beam (68-70 or so) will bolt right on, then swap the spindles for disc types. I will be swapping the late one with an early in the coming months.
The phatchick ones are "beefier" and as such will RISE up the front of your split bus. So you'll have some choices: bring the back up some, or drop the front beam with either adjusters or drop spindles. Good luck on your project. _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

then you don't want a b/j beam then you can go alot lower easier with the king/link pin beam _________________ 56' panel made in wolfsburg(sold new project coming soon)

Amen! Try to go low w/ a BJ beam and you will be hating life! Why do you think all the really low FC buses switch to LP hardware? Hint: It ain't for the ride quality _________________ Founding member of

i actaully prefere ride the of l/p over b/j. b/j has always felt floaty and bouncey to me
i would rather have a stiffer ride then to feel like i out of control _________________ 56' panel made in wolfsburg(sold new project coming soon)

FWIW, been clocked @ 95mph and she's steady as a rock! While I do realize the slamma-jamma-scrape'O'rammas prefer the link pin beams, I for one will never go back to them!
If anything, what best improves stability is an anti-sway bar on the front beam, whether LP or BJ. Anyway, good luck with your project and I really do hope you are happy with the end result. _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

I have had a lowered BJ frontend for over 15 years. 68-70 beam, 71-72 power disc brakes. It has a nice stance, pretty low. It is rough over bumps in the street /highway. I recently got rid of my shocks and run smart car tires instead of 135's, rides better. _________________ Looking for license plate donations (or super cheap). Do not need to be vintage.
