So then, what was the reasoning for stiffer rear torsion bars on Micros and deluxes that would warrant a separate M-code? |
Because they weigh the most, and bags of meat that sit in back weigh more than typical cargo. |
Ah, so it was a US-spec option? |
Well, Americans are heavier than Europeans, on average. |
Not sure if that was true in the 60's. It seems to be a more recent phenomenon.
Do bags of meat weigh more than a Westy interior? Or that of a single, double or panel payload capacity? |
Seating area is greater in a passenger bus. |
I know. But do a few bags of meat weigh more than a westy interior and a couple of bags of meat? |
For all we know, there is a commercial bus 'stiffer rear torsion spring' option which is stiffer than the passenger bus version.
didn't type 27s often come with a stiffer rear torsion option? |

I'm glad he said it was an aftermarket sunroof because if that was an original sunroof standard then... _________________ How to: Post Photos | Search

The rear is probably worth $4-500 or so if it's not rusty.
There are not enough pics to determine that.
The middle... it's good for parts or as welding practice for someone.
Maybe a couple hundred $ since it has the grab handles?
I like how he compares it to another overpriced seat @ $4500:

Plus that is seat is worth wayyy more, even in the same condition. _________________ How to: Post Photos | Search

very authentic engine compartment... |
It also has an authentic fat chick middle seat, what is with the back of the rear seat? Real authentic. Yet another fool and his money part ways on BJ.
That bus screams cheap flashy "restoration" designed to catch the eye of the oblivious. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

| Quote: | | Wonderfully restored 1963 split window bus in Turkis and white exterior and Como and Phosphor Green interior. Restored with meticulous attention to detail inside and out. All windows on the bus have been replaced with safari style glass including front windshields and the rare small back glass. Powered by a 1,600cc German crate motor and a 4-speed transmission this bus runs and drive beautifully. Every part of the interior has either been replaced or restored to great condition. The two tone interior has been professionally installed as well as the floor which was done in authentic German square weave oatmeal carpet. During the mechanical and cosmetic restoration, precise attention to detail was given to this bus to keep it as authentic as possible. This bus has been in a private collection since completion of the restoration and has always been stored in a climate controlled environment. Meticulously maintained and serviced by air cooled Volkswagen specialist Carl Fowler. The vintage roof rack, white wall tires and Hawaiian long board complete the look of this beach cruiser. |

Are the rear seat, seat back brackets installed reverse from normal? Shouldn't the seat side of the bracket have the 2 holes, and the other side a single hole?
(Minor detail eclipsed by so many others.)
I wonder if the buyer is stoked, suffering buyers remorse, or just so completely oblivious to anything but conspicuous wealth and his/her 10 minutes in the BJ limelight that he/she doesn't care. _________________
