Gary, maybe not in your garage, but in the basement workshop? Kitchen junk drawer? Cleaning closet?
No basements in Oklahoma Laughing

Where do you go when the twister is looming on the horizon? We always had basements in MN.

Protocol down here is to run outside and photograph or take video. Thought you knew?

As a kid, I could only stand outside to watch until things got really hairy, then mom would yell at me. My dad was a State trooper, so he was always out spotting tornadoes. He has some great pictures. As I got older, I was able to watch a few twisters first hand. They are a beautiful thing.

everybody for the discussion on how WD-40 is not a lubricant, so should not be compared to something that is advertised as a lube?

True, WD-40 is not a lube. A tomato is not a vegetable. We all forget ourselfs sometimes Laughing . My point stands that "generic" products are just that.

It is a hell of a cleaner on duct tape residue! It worked like magic!

just dont use a wd 40 type of product on any bearing or bearing serface, such as roller bearing, main bearings rod bearings, cam bearings, crankshaft, needel bearings etc. it is a dispersant, and forms a barrier. witch can keep the oil from doing it,s job. and in the end you have burnt up bearings& parts. mecury marine learned this the hard expensive way, and thus the tsb on it. if you dont beleave it just spray a nice machined part then try to get the oil to stick to it. I knew a guy that rinced all his bearings with wd , he had a lot of junk motors. was it the wd?? or just dumb luck? I probably would not of thought about the affects of it if I did not do warranty work for mercurry marine, mercurry racing, mercrusier, (and others)

My boss showed me how to remove tape that had ben dried on a 10k paint job by spending months in the desert sun. WD-40 The expensive adhisive remover we had didn't even soften it up but with the WD and three times as much elbo grease it came off. This is on a bike that is worth more than most of you make in a year. I don't think the watered down cheap stuff would have done the job and there is no way I would put my job on the line to find out.

For lube, my choice is the Wurth HHS 2000.
