Okay, if that is a photo of the person in question, that is NOT, repeat **NOT** Mark Schlachter, of Metalkraft Coachwerkes, in Cincinnati, OH.
I've known the real Mark Schlachter for many years, and there is NO WAY he would do any of the things mentioned in this thread. He runs a high-end body shop, has Hebmullers and high roof Panels, and slant nose Porsches, numerous split window Bugs, and there is flat NO WAY he would be doing any of this. I know the real Mark has a son, and maybe that's a photo of him, I don't know. I met his son at the Cincy VW club's annual VW/Porsche Family Reunion car show at GE Park some years ago (probably 10 at this point) and, to be honest with you, I don't recall what he looks like.
I'm sorry, but I don't even remember his son's name.

I talked via telephone yesterday to the REAL Mark Schlachter, who did indeed say that his son has been using his name, in business dealings and whatnot.
Without getting into any family drama, because it is not my place to butt in or publicize, there has been a falling out between "Mr VW1" , Dann Schlachter, and his dad, the real Mark S. From what I understand, they haven't even spoken in quite a few years now, and that there has even been some theft of some sort from the family.
I just wanted to make sure that the REAL Mark Schlachter's name stayed unimpeachable. He is a high-class, giving, generous, talented human being....if any of you would like to meet the real Mark, He'll be at the Cincy VW Club's annual VW/Porsche Family Reunion, the last day of september 2012, at GE Park in Cincinnati.
Hell, *I'M* working on trying to get there, just for the fun of it, and to see Mark again.
