| Looking for information on how to repair the drip. I know about the 'lead plugs' and have got the first one drilled out. If anyone has any tips of how to remove the second one that would be great. Also, needs tips of what to do after I get both of the plugs out. Where i could get the plugs or how i could replace them. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

I just went through this wit a set of Dells. From what I understand the plugs are not something that can be replaced easily as they are a special material and need to be an interference fit to prevent them from leaking. I sent mine out to Art at ACE and he fixed them up and tuned them. They were almost dead on right out of the box, and are the smoothest running carbs I have ever used. They run like an FI system. Well worth the $200 it cost me to have them done professionaly.
I do have another set that I will need this mod done on, and I'd like to attempt it myself if I knew of someone who has successfully done it and could give me some advice. I would believe once the plugs are out you could tap the passage for a threaded plug.......... |

I have a set of these carbs and having a hard time setting them up on my 1776. They were set up for a 2180 but I bought tis Mazzone rail for 4000 reall nice and clean with a new 1776. The carbs had 180 air jets and now 190, had .70 ideal jets now .56, venturies ar 36. I just put in a accu-fire ignition so I don't have to worry about the points and now the carbs are back to all messed up again. I had them almost there I think. I took it out for the first time and it still had a flat spot. You can floor it and it would bog out, you have to pump at-least once but once you get get going its quick.
So I need to get rid of the flat spot you guys have any ideas? Also what is the big deal over Webber, Empi, or Dellartos. Also do you guys have any knowledge of Mazzone cars cause I am thinking of just dumping this 1776 and going with a Subaru motor. I wish my V8 would fit in this car lol. |
