Hit up your local "Tractor Supply" for a exhaust flapper thingy [I dont know what you call them, not too many tractors in Vegas.]

You'd have to straight 'pour' water into that to get water into the engine. It'd evaporate way before getting to the heads in any reasonable scenario.

They must be pretty lenient in Wisconsin... an un-corked stinger would last about 5 min.s till ticket time out here... on the street that is.

If you are that worried about debree, slap on a down spout. Just make sure you are last in line on a trail, or your buddies will hate you.

I live where it can rain and snow alot and had the same problem. This is how I fixed it. Just a small cabinet hinge riveted on and a piece of sheet metal ground down with a grinder into a circle.

It's called a rain cap. You can get them in various sizes at Tractor Supply, where I got mine. Painted it high temp black to match the rest.

Works well, but it clanks a little so it's not quiet but not bad. I barely notice it now. Very small price to pay for piece of mind.

If it's banging and bouncing, try adding a little weight to the non flapper end.

I smashed a "split shot" fishing weight into the small hole and filed small bits off until the flapper just went shut on it's own. it doesn't bounce, (or clank, bang, squeek or rattle) even at idle, but it shuts every time I turn the engine off.

Paul.

Just weld in a "U" bend and point the stinger down. You won't have to worry about someone walking into it and burning themselves and you won't have a clanking flapper. It will also be quieter in the car.
