thanks bubba, metal treatment is first acid, that leaves usually some phosphor e residue, I then add zinc both act as an active rust suppression, then surface prep which encapsulates.
some work of today, right floor quarter is in

some more progress, this time I hit some major issues concerning metal fitting. B-pillar showd a totally wrong end curve so it need a major rework.
Outer rocker also was a bad fit and needs to be fixed from both ends (this is an early klassicfab part, so maybe it has been corrected)
cargo door was badly patched by PO, no prob, but I discovered that the bracket were the lower hinge is welded (riveted?) was unusable. Seems there is no direct replacement part...any ideas? (considering I am so bad making parts by myself )
well after some rework I am very proud of the outer rocker result,
and patched the remaining floor using danish metal.

long time no see some more progress pictures
one interesting discovery, was to find that the gas faucet opening frame, was painted in westfalia brown. This and the fact that the gas hose was from year 1958, means that the SO23 gas fridge was NOT a hack, but installed in Westfalia factory. However is unknown if it was a customer special request or a prototype.

| Wow what a great job you are doing on this Westy. As said earlier a lesser person would have probablly walked away from this project, I have to replace just the front floor in my 63 and you have given me hope that I can do it myself Thanks |

more updates
finished the upper-hats were the outriggers meet. I was not happy how those were spot welded so I re-welded them again.
completed the floor, now it looks much better
and started to fit the outer left rocker. I need to tweak it because the lower curve does not follow the rear rocker part...

Thanks Xavi! Some more work. I needed to trim the front part of the outer rocker geometry, as it was warping. All in all, it looks better than I guessed taking in account my lack of knowledge

Yup! its a shame that I had no space for a rotisserie, that would make everything easier/faster....but well, I am already getting used to it
more work
I needed a full afternoon to restore the Y heating hose...being a bad metal former, I am happy with the end results.

back to rear left corner....bad thing about not being an expert is that you should redo things
Fitting a new "gas bottle" pan, wanted to keep the original one but it was not following gerson's replacement corner...
and the right side too....
the battery tray its still original metal..surprisingly in good condition _________________ Aug '58 pressed bumper SO23

Thanks Otis!
Following with the resto, this time with the front side!
I was very afraid about the fit of this part, and also if I was skilled enough to respect the proper curvature...I am quite happy how this is coming out
and zinc primed
