Hey hey! Im still alive and kicking. Its been an exciting last 30 days.
I left for R&R on June 10th and arrived in Jax FL on my birthday to gather up all my remaining stuff and head for Tucson. Some of you may have saw my SO42 for sale in the classifieds. It ended up selling right out of the storage box to a local Floridian named Darren, here is his thread on it http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=6107058&highlight=#6107058
Him buying the bus was sad and happy for me as I had a lot of sweat in that bus but it made the move to AZ much more easy.

SO, me and my father made the move, I closed on a wonderful home with a badass man cave AND also I asked my wonderful girlfriend to marry me. It was a good trip and I just arrived back in Kandahar for my last 3 month rotation. Ill be home for good in October if all plans work out.

For your viewing enjoyment, this is the new home for the Binz and his garage mates.

Im looking forward to having the Tucson Bus guys over for some BBQ, BEER and some Wrenching to break in the new shop!

Congrats on the new home and the engagement! Looks like a great place. You'll be wrenching in no time! The Westy is getting a little attention but the real work hasn't begun yet. We too bought a new home less then a week before I picked up the bus. Gathering up tools and parts as we work on furnishing and getting the house to our liking. Priorities... Be safe.

Congratulation on all accounts! I really like that house.

And the Superbeetle? 1972? I used to have a '72 same color and sunroof. It was my first air-cooled VW waaaay back in '92.

Pretty sweet setup. Looks like a great place to hole up and work on projects. Pardon my ignorance, but what's that pictured behind the split? I don't know that I've seen that before.

haha I need to change that out. The man who built the home was partially disabled. There was panic buttons installed throughout the house and he actually had to use it once. The paramedics broke through the rear garage door to gain access to him. Everything in the house is powered by remote of some sort or another.

west side it is! I figured there is no time like the present to buy. Rates are at an all time low and this place was on the market for over a year so I got a smokin deal.

Here is my jeep inspiration picture (found on the interweb) and then a pic of my junker.

Ah, that's why it looked familiar. My brain was trying to force it into a VW model and failing. Old Willys are a mild interest of mine (especially WWII Jeeps), but not currently on my ownership radar.
