Purchased Sept. 1983 picture when the kids were little. I cleaned the pan and undercoated and I made the mistake of storing outside in the NW winters for several years so starting over.
I have begun recently restarting this project since the kids have moved out were does the time go? I need to Get R Dun will add some new recent pictures. Built a new dolly, removed front and rear end, wire brushing and some light sandblasting.
Check out the rust.

You call that rust?!? I believe most of that would have buffed clean. 25 years at the edge of a northwest Georgia mountain pasture back off in the trees - now THAT'S RUST!
Seriously, you have a lot of good stuff to start with. |

A few updated pictures, making some progress.
I am not sure how to seal this gaps on the extension so let me know what your thoughts are on sealing these up. _________________ Check out my build:

Chewing gum and marshmellows...
Seriously tho if you are not into welding it, You can use aluminum tape (not duct tape) Hvac tape.. molds well around corners.. just run several layers..
I did this to several pin holes on my pan ( after por15 ) then sprayed with self etching primer then rubberized under coat.. worked very well.. cheap and easy..
Or you can use fiberglass cloth and por 15 to saturate cloth.. dries rock hard.
Although metal work is best.. do not use foam filler or good stuff or anything like that..
.IDK just my .02cents |

Terry, if you clean the paint off those seams and fab some small wedges from the same square tube, you can bring the pan over to my shop and we can weld it up.
Might be easier on some of those gaps just to take some plate steel carved into the proper shape and weld that in. It wouldn't take more than an hour to weld and clean it up, you'll have more time invested in making the "plugs". |

Hi Scott, I will work on this and come up with some spacers to weld in and will PM you, thanks for the assistance.
