Well i just got back from the Blasters Jody and shes 100% naked!!! Cool
Everything looks good no real big surprises, just the usual on a vehicle 57 yrs old. I think the worst i hadnt noticed was the amount of filler in teh decklid, i knew it had some but she was pretty full of it. The decklids been beat pretty hard in the past, But definetly nothing that we cant fix and fortunatly its rust free < Very Happy We will wipe her down good tomorrow morning with pre-cleaner and get a nice coat of epoxy on everything right away!!!
Theres just something about a freshly painted VW! Cool

Let the reconstruction begin! Cool
I set all the door gaps where i wanted them and started dissecting the drivers side heater channel today. I did get the new one installed and welded into place and started prepping the right side for its turn!

We used these heater channels because thats what the owner had bought at the time. that was the only style avaialbe. So insteaded of buying anotyher set from Gerson we used these and once i get all the bottom metal welded inplace i will modify these to replicate early channels.

I test fitted Jodys rear apron today to see what we had, and then did some metalworking on his decklid to get it back into shape so that we can use it to align the rear apron!
