Ugh, I threw up in my mouth a little. I hope that was a shill bidder. You couldn't get $10k for that thing in the regular market.
I liked how the commentators mentioned that safari windows were only on "early buses" while the blue samba was being sold. Make me wonder how much they really know about the American cars. _________________ Home of the Annual Simple Transport Air Cooled shows!

They also said that ever since the 25 window bus brought 190 grand a couple of years ago (last year) that they get a lot of busses now

And Matt Stone said that $20k Bay was "well bought." Not only the buyers but the announcers aren't very VW savvy. My fave Mike Joy said last nite on the 21 window "those pop up windshields couldn't be found in buses this late." _________________ '69 SingleCab

They also said a "25" window sold for over a 100k last year. I love those "25" window busses |

I've seen the Scooby bus in person. It was a very nice and looked to be well made. At first I thought it was lame, but after looking at it I thought it was kind of cool. I hope the new owner has a lot of fun in it! _________________ 68-71 Baywindows are not fat chicks, but more like well developed hotties!

| The lack of knowledge coming from the broadcasters pisses me off. Yeah I know Volkswagens aren't everyones cup of tea, but you don't know the facts don't pull them out of your a$$. I'd rather have dead air than listen to them rattle off incorrect info. 2¢ |

I agree, but it's funny to me at the same time. They've been caught with their pants down! None of these car snobs expected busses to ever be worth a damn. What they know about VW's could never compete with samba member's lifetime love for these cars.
A commentator that can tell you all about the correct placement of a factory welded exhaust hanger for a 69 Camaro SS, can't even get the model name of a 23 window bus right. Folks, only the early 25 window model had the option of those flip up windshields. _________________ Check out my truck being brought back from the dead... http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=420762&highlight=sprayed+blood |

Was as Barrett the other day and saw all of the vehicles up close before the rude huge crowds arrrived. I will say the Scooby bus was well put together. Several of the other busses were just found and flipped. I talked to one of the those guys for quite a while and that is all he does buy them clean them and flipp them. _________________ Volkswagen: We tune what we drive.
