My Thing has a series of foam rubber dash pads that are in good shape, just dull and faded. I'm wondering what the best way to restore these might be? Armor-all is ok for short term, but it just seems to fade after about a week. Is there a better way, or a better product? Maybe something silicon based? Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

OK, Amor All is the worst, as it dries out the material and tends to create "fisheye". POR15 (http://www.por15.com) makes a product that has more solids and will rejuvinate your dash pad. I have used it on some gnarly parts, and it works great. The product comes in either a 10oz or 12oz bottle. Very small, but effective.

OK, when you're done with that, get a can of vaseline and slather it all over the dash. Either leave the dash in place, or more remove it. Cover every square inch and leave the vaseline there for a few days or up to a week (if possible). Go back with a fresh cloth and wipe away the residual vaseline. You should notice that the dash has become a bit more soft and supple. The dash will have absorbed the petroleum from the vaseline. Total outlay is less than $2 for the vaseline. If you do this twice per year with your dash, you'll have no problems.
