|

I have a 1975 914 2.0 that I converted to carbs. The brake master cylinder dumps about 1-2 tablespoons of fluid when the brake pedal is pressed. I obviously need a new MC. I want to upgrade to the 19 mm MC and there are two options. I could spend $260+ and buy the porche OEM equivalent by ATE or spend $60 - $90 on a cheaper variant from URO. I don't know if I want to skimp out on the braking system because it could save my life and all.
What are your recommendations? Has anyone been using the URO equivalent?
Thanks,

I've been using the URO MC for quite a few years and many miles with no problems. |

Dlee6204 you've gotten lucky. i would not touch URO brand anything on a mission critical part. the quality of URO brand parts is inconsistent. that's a tactful way of saying something else. _________________ SL |

I would definitely spend the money and either get a stock 17mm or upgraded 19mm ATE master cylinder. The 19mm is considered an upgrade but the funny thing is that they are less expensive than the stock 17mm master cylinders. I would't take a chance on any other brand than ATE. You never want to take a chance with your brakes to try saving a few $$$$. _________________ If you hear these words then get out of the way, "Hey Ya'll, Watch this!!!". |
